This is not the part where I tell you my road was paved with gold and the journey to the place I am now was perfect. It was far from perfect. My life is a lot like your story I bet; long, maybe messy, and full of immense growth.
I began in the fitness industry to change lives and make a difference.
But, I’ll admit, somewhere along the way of expanding, growing, and building my business; I lost my way.
Fitness found me in a simple way: I was a young person trying to find an outlet. Fitness saved me from myself in so many ways as a young person; but unfortunately, I was so unaware of how my fitness journey would turn. I experienced my first eating disorder at the age of 12 and by 25, I became a “trifecta of eating disorders” if you will; bulimia nervosa, orthorexia, and binge eating disorder.
I began competitive bodybuilding at 23. While I do not blame my involvement with the sport on my disorders; it did create a perfect mask for my previous disorders to thrive.
For years, I lived in an internal warzone: obsess about food, binge on food, punish myself with activity for eating the food; rinse, wash, repeat for 7 years………
The space that had once saved me in my younger years, had now become a place of negative self-worth, internal trauma, and was literally destroying my mind and body.
In 2015, I had my first son and he didn’t just change my life; he saved it!
Becoming a mother empowered me to reclaim my mental and physical health & wellness.
My journey, as messy as it was, lit a fire inside me to become a coach and make a difference in women’s lives and for that; I’m forever grateful!
I am proof that you can completely screw it all up and still find your way back to loving, supporting, and becoming aligned with your mind, body, and spirit.
This is the real reason you’re reading my story……..
You could have picked any trainer or read any blog out there, but something tells me there’s nothing ordinary about you or your story & I’m so happy to have you here!
